CHAPTER NINETEEN

“We can’t do this,” Cal gasped when he could bring himself to break away from Pru’s mouth.

“Yes, we can.”

She was nothing if not persistent. “We shouldn’t do this,” he clarified.

“Why not?” she asked. “And you’re not allowed to repeat any of those bullshit excuses from before.”

He breathed in and realized he had nothing. All he could do was shake his head.

“Cal.”

“Yeah,” he answered, feeling much too miserable considering he had Pru beneath him on her bed and her hand was currently cupping his hard-on through his cargo shorts.

“Don’t freak out, but I’m doing this.” As she said it, she popped the button then lowered the zipper on his shorts.

He groaned but wasn’t sure if it was from the desperation of him wanting her to go on or to stop.

She reached inside his boxer briefs and stroked his length and God help him he didn’t stop her. Instead he absorbed all the sensations caused by her smooth warm hand gliding over him.

“Roll over,” she ordered, being uncharacteristically bossy.

Where was the demure girl he used to know, who liked to sit in the corner and fade into the woodwork?

When he didn’t move right away, she gave him a little push.

He lost his balance, knocking him off the one elbow he’d been propped up on to keep his weight off her. He toppled onto his back on the narrow mattress next to her.

“That’s better,” she said, moving down his body.

“What are you going to do?” He asked the ridiculous question as she gazed up at him from between his thighs.

“What do you think?” The rhetorical question was delivered with an attitude she’d never shown before.

He swallowed. “Pru—”

The protest never made it out of his mouth as she slid her lips over him. A shudder ran through him and he dug his fingers into the bedding to stop himself from fisting her hair and driving himself into her throat.

Kissing her was bad enough, but he would have been able to walk away feeling okay about that if that was all that it had been.

But this… Neither one of them was walking away unscathed from this. This was going to change things.

And God help him, he wasn’t doing a damn thing to stop her. In fact, he widened his legs and shoved his shorts lower to give her better access to his cock, because that’s the kind of shithead he was.

But Christ did this feel good. Too good. And he knew this wasn’t going to be enough. As he forced his eyes open and watched her take him into her mouth, he knew that for certain. And when she opened her eyes and held his gaze while she sucked him off, he felt himself lose more than just his control over his dick.

“Pru, I’m gonna—” His potential warning was cut off by a groan as she doubled down with her hand and mouth.

That was it. He was done. It had been a long sexless deployment followed by the long journey back to California and his mad dash across the country to get home for his grandmother.
